      Do you have a special cup that you use when you are drinking something for breakfast?  I have one but it is not as special as some of the cups that we have here at home. For over 30 years we have had these cups which we use as decoration. As the headline states, 'No Liquid In These Cups!'  Here are some of them that you will see in our dining-room.

Question Time

       Every weekend I will have a blog post where I ask and answer questions.  It is a good way for readers to get to know more about me and also helps me to get feedback on a number of questions.  What are you giving special thanks for at this time?  I give thanks that my mother celebrated yet another birthday at the beginning of this month. She has been on this earth for many decades yet she has been able to rally around me during my illness. I also give thanks for the strength she has shown in facing life's blows and fighting on. Below is the special birthday card we bought for her featuring her favourite flowers, roses.  

      As usual I am participating in Friendship Friday hosted by Create With Joy where the theme this week is Something Good.  It fits in so well with my question this week.  I am glad that I was able to prepare a special birthday lunch for my mom although it was 1 week late.

Back After A Health Attack - Creative Monday Blog Hop

          I have been missing in action on my blog for almost 2 weeks due to health problems. Happily I am feeling better and will try to post as often as I can. I eagerly look forward to linking up with you all again.
        While I was off my mother celebrated another birthday on Sunday, September 1.  I was very disappointed that I was sick at that time but arrangements were made that she could have a special lunch and birthday cake. 

     Nevertheless I was determined to prepare a belated birthday lunch for my mother today. It consisted of roast chicken with stuffing, rice and peas, macaroni and cheese, vegetable salad, baked Irish potatoes and rolls.

Creamed Irish Potatoes With Raisins - Creative Monday Blog Hop

Ingredients
4 Medium Irish Potatoes
1 Tablespoon of butter
1/2 cup of raisins
1 teaspoon of salt

Method
1. Add 1 teaspoon of salt to water and bring to a boil
2. Put potatoes to boil until tender
3. Drain 
4. Cream Irish Potatoes with butter
5. Add raisins and stir
6. Decorate with more raisins
7. Serve hot

Question Time

       Every weekend I will have a blog  post where I ask and answer questions.  It is  a good way for readers to get to know more about me and also helps me to get feedback on a number of questions.  What song are you listening to over and over these days?  Recently I saw the video of the song 'Overcomer' by Mandisa on Jamerican Spice's Blog.  The lyrics are great and so helpful for me at this time. 

     As usual I am participating in Friendship Friday hosted by Create With Joy where the theme this week is Back To School.  Would you like to go 'Back To School' to pursue a degree or some enrichment classes?  It would be interesting pursuing further studies. Recently I have even been thinking of learning Spanish online.  Most schools reopen during the first week of September in Jamaica. I am not a parent but it is a busy and expensive time for parents. For parents, How does it feel to send your children 'Back To School?'  If you have ever returned to school after a long absence, what was the experience like? In Jamaica children wear school uniforms.  Below is a picture of Janine and me in our 6th form uniforms many years ago.

  Time certainly flies!  I can hardly believe that I started this series a year ago and today I end the series with some colourful bird figurines. I thank all the persons who have viewed my collection and shared their comments.  I enjoyed sharing this collection which brought so much joy to my twin and me.
