Question Time

Every weekend I will have a blog  post where I ask and answer questions.  It is  a good way for readers to get to know more about me and also helps me to get feedback on a number of questions.  What song are you listening to over and over these days?  Recently I saw the video of the song 'Overcomer' by Mandisa on Jamerican Spice's Blog.  The lyrics are great and so helpful for me at this time.

As usual I am participating in Friendship Friday hosted by Create With Joy where the theme this week is Back To School.  Would you like to go 'Back To School' to pursue a degree or some enrichment classes?  It would be interesting pursuing further studies. Recently I have even been thinking of learning Spanish online.  Most schools reopen during the first week of September in Jamaica. I am not a parent but it is a busy and expensive time for parents. For parents, How does it feel to send your children 'Back To School?'  If you have ever returned to school after a long absence, what was the experience like? In Jamaica children wear school uniforms.  Below is a picture of Janine and me in our 6th form uniforms many years ago.

Hi Judy, If you caught me a couple of years ago, I would have said yes to going back to school. I have done all the classes and achieved all the personal goals as far as learning goes, I now can say no.
However, along those lines, I would love to explore and focus on my careers through those certificates and licenses that I have earned. Thanks for playing and linking up with Thursday Two Questions. :-)

I have my BS in Business Management and went to school many years after high school. I was considered an old timer at that point, but I got my degree anyway. It was the best thing I ever did.

I never had to wear a school uniform, but where I live it's not a bad idea since there are so many gangs.

Have a terrific day Judy. ☺

I do not have children either. But I did return to college as a full time student when I was 40 years old--It felt strange but good!! Yes I graduated 4 1/2 years later--the extra 1/2 year was spent finishing up my senior project and finally finishing up my 2 year accounting degree.

Great achievement MikiHope! Enjoy the rest of your week.

I love the photo of you and your twin! Our kids also wear uniforms. From grades 1 - 3 they wear a track-suit style uniform with cross-trainer shoes and from grades 4 - 12 they wear a more formal style of uniform with the black shoes and tie.

Thanks NC Sue! I will be sure to come over and link up. Have a good weekend.

I love the picture of you and your sister!

My daughter has to wear semi-uniforms in high school and my son can wear whatever he wants in grade school. :)

Colette always picks great songs, doesn't she?

That song is indeed beautiful and I hope one day I'll overcome all this struggle in my marriage. Whether here or away on my own.

Thank you for sharing.

Indeed I would love to further my education. And right now my future depends on me furthering my education based on how things are.

Aww Judy, Spanish lessons online sounds great, I would like to learn something again but with 4 children I don't get much time. I wont know what to do with all the time once the children are back, lots of running maybe :)

When I was in High School I had the privilege of spending a summer living with a family in Jamaica and helping teach Sunday school at their church. It was a wonderful time for me. I can still remember the taste of the sugar cane fresh from the field. Yum!!! Your blog brings back some great memories. I'm looking forward to reading more. BTW - the uniforms make me smile. The girls in my class all complained about them!

A real cool song indeed Noor! I am going to listen to it tonight after a very rough day. I will check out the song you mentioned too. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

I know what you mean Sarah! I also have some health issues to deal with before I can pursue more studies.
