Whimsical Mumblings

Hey there! I'm Sarah and I blog over at Whimsical Mumblings :) I am a 20 something year old girl from England. I love all things British. The food, the movies, the TEA. Whimsical Mumblings is basically as the title explains, random blabberings from my crazy life. The good, the bad, and the strange. Easter Goodies - Creative Monday Linky

My family and I have been enjoying the long 4 day Easter holiday weekend. It is good to see several of the favourite decorations that my twin and I always used to decorate our living-room.

There are also the many Easter goodies that my family and I have been enjoying. Happily everything turned out delicious:

Escoveitched Fish

We eat a lot of escoveitched fish at Easter and like it especially with bread. In a previous post I shared the recipe. It can can be found HERE.

Easter Buns

Easter buns are oblong shaped buns sold by bakeries across the island. This year we enjoyed the 2 above which were made by Maxfield and Whitfield Bakeries.

Chocolates

I still have most of the chocolate above. I have been very good so I share them with my family whenever I have some.

Our Easter Sunday and Easter Monday lunch - roast chicken with stuffing, curried mutton, rice and peas, potato salad, vegetable salad and baked ripe plantains and rolls.

Question Time

Every weekend I will have a blog post where I ask and answer questions. It is a good way for readers to get to know more about me and also help me to get feedback on a number of questions. Today I answer the final question asked by Jamie from Love Bakes Good Cakes who passed on the Liebster award to me. How many states have you stepped foot in? I have never travelled abroad so I have never been to the U.S.A. However if the day comes when I travel I think the U.S.A. would be the first country that I visit. I have many relatives, friends and pen pals living there.
I am also participating in Friendship Friday hosted by Create With Joy where this week the theme is Easter and Passover. What are your weekend plans? What special Easter and Passover traditions would you like to share? It is a 4 day long weekend in Jamaica which I will be spending with my family. Many Jamaicans attend Easter Sunday service. There is also the custom to eat escoveitched fish and Easter bun and cheese.

Bird Figurine Series # 31 - Happy Easter!

Chicks are often associated with Easter so I am happy to have a few chicks among my bird collection. The first chick is a new Easter decoration from my English pen-pal. A few years ago I received the second one . If you celebrate Easter I wish you an enjoyable holiday. It is a four day holiday weekend in Jamaica - Good Friday (March 29) to Easter Monday ( April 1).

Favourite Easter Decorations - Creative Monday Linky

Here in Jamaica it is not the custom to decorate one's home at Easter. Anyway my twin and I started decorating our home after receiving Easter decorations from pen pals in a number of countries. I plan to decorate again this year and started to worry when I could not find my Easter decorations. During Hurricane Sandy I had to move things around so that they would not get damaged. I was so relieved when I finally found them! Here are some favourites that Janine and I like to decorate with.

Question Time

Today I answer Question 9 asked by Jamie from Love Bakes Good Cakes who passed on the Liebster award to me. If money was no object, what would the first thing you would want to do? I would like to make a significant contribution to the fight against cancer and heart disease.
I am also participating in Friendship Friday hosted by Create With Joy where this week the theme is Renewal. What will you do this season to rejuvenate and renew your spirit? I will meditate more, keep on with my Yoga exercises and take more time to admire nature in all its glory.
