Over the years Janine and I have gotten several items that carried a bird figure. In other words they were not just figurines. Well, guess what was under the base of this bird?! It is not there anymore and of course would not be used by us as we could not have this cute chicken out of our collection. Now for the answer as to what this really was - a bird pencil sharpener!

It's such a cool thing to collect. My oldest loved peacocks. Now he doesn't seem to care about them. I wish he still liked them as much as he did!
