Bird Figurines Series - # 33

Do you have an item for a particular purpose but you refuse to use it in that way?  Well, there are several items in my bird figurine collection that fall in this category.  One of them is this swan which is really a candlestick.  Janine and I were thrilled when we received it as a gift many years ago. The pink reflection you see in the body is in fact a candle.  I am sure it would look beautiful lit but I don't plan on lighting it any time soon.

I wouldn't either. That is a beautiful swan. I've never seen a candle holder like this before. Awesome.

Have a terrific day Judy. ☺

Hi Judy...another cutie...as long as it has sentimental value..it's hard to let go of things! Enjoy your little buddy!

So pretty, Judy! I'm like you with decorative candles...I rarely light them either. Just keep them out for decoration. You and Janine have so many treasured pieces...it's so nice you have them to remember her and the loved ones your received them from! I hope you're having a great week so far. Sending lots of love and wishing you a happy Thursday! Xoxox

I never light decorative candles. I don't want to ruin their beauty.

We use the girls soap dish for a flosser pick holder. It reminds them to floss their teeth each night.

You are welcome KC!

I see that you also don't light decorative candles Theresa! You have come up with a great idea for the girls' soap dish.

The crystal swan figurine is very pretty. I would not have known it was a candle holder. Did it come as a pair? Does your sister own one also?

Unknown said...

Thanks Vashti. My twin and I got it as a gift from one of our brothers. It did not come as a pair. It is among our collection of bird figurines in a display unit.

I have some candles in the front room that are definitely for decoration purposes only. They're scented too and I'm so tempted to use them for that purpose alone...but I don't. Visiting on the TGIF hop from http://makeitorfixit.com. Stop by when you get a chance. Happy to be back on your site.

Thanks for your feedback Sharon. I will definitely visit your Blog.

That is a beautiful swan. I would leave it alone too :). My mom does that with the flower and heart shape soaps. They're too pretty to use! Thanks for partying with us @ the Show Off Blog Party. It's always a pleasure to have you :)
