The Climb Out Of The Valley - Creative Monday Linky

My decision to start this blog was always with an intention to share ways to heal after loss. Anyone who has lost someone knows how difficult it is to cope and I am glad that in various ways I have been able to share how I have faced this challenge. I thank Peggy Sweeney of The Sweeney Alliance for giving me an opportunity to share my article The Climb Out Of The Valley in the February issue of the newsletter Journeys Through Grief.

Of course I have nothing creative to link (oh Judy, I need a creative bone in my body, I really do...a blogger who doesn't craft, eesh), but I did just read your story and it was very good! Thank you for sharing it.

Judy, your article was so touching and beautiful! I loved reading about your journey and how you've dealt with the losses in your life. You are such a strong woman and I admire the way you always remember the people you love in your life...the way you express yourself through your photos and words and the kind-hearted person you are.
Thank you so much for sharing!
I hope your weekend was wonderful and that you're enjoying a relaxing Sunday night! Sending lots of love your way! Xoxox

Such a very important purpose for a blog to have! Your loses are great! I think writing is a very positive way to heal.

There's a nonprofit Organization right down the street called The Centering Corporation. They have councilors and books to help with grieving. I volunteered for it once. It was so great. The event I helped with was for kids that lost someone. They do help adults to. I cried so much that day. We made pillows out of their old t-shirts, we let butterflies go, made memory boxes and more. The story that got me the most was a boy that got in a car wreck with his dad. The dad passed away, but the 4 year old had to go get help. He ran in a yard that had a dog, which he was afraid of to get help. He was hurt himself. It was so sad. It was great to know that we were helping them make things to help the grieving process.

In my family my mom, sister and nephew carry a rare chromosome issue called Trisomy 18. We've lost 3 babies from it. My youngest nephew is living with what the hospital calls "not compatible with life". He'll be 2 in June. It's hard to know how to grieve with a baby because I watched them be born and then I watched them die. I never knew their personalities.

Thanks for the information you shared here Alissa. Writing has proven to be so therapeutic for me. It is wonderful that you were able to volunteer for the Centering Corporation. By the way, I wonder if this is the same Centering Corporation that has a publication called Grief Digest. I had an article published in one of their magazines. Support from others is so essential when persons suffer loss. I am sorry to hear of the loss that you have faced with your family. It must be hard to see a baby come in the world and then die. Take care.
