Enjoy the crop! I love pumpkin and squash blooms!

Alas, these seem to all be the Male Flowers!! The female flowers, have what will become the fruit (Pumpkin) which is a small round/elongated fruit just below the base of the flower. To almost guarantee a pumpkin, grab a small brush, brush the anthers where the pollen is on these flowers, then find the femail, and brush the stamen... There should be 4-5 anthers whilst only a single stamen!!!

Good luck!!

Mines up as well at AussiePomm - Blast from the past!!!!

Have a great day!!

Hey Judy,

Ah, there is nothing like a good pumpkin patch! Is this picture current? Our growing seasons couldn't be any different! You wouldn't see a pumpkin here for another six months at least. Thanks for hosting Judy! Have a great week.

Paula said...

We attempted growing pumpkins one year and one perfect little pumpkin grew, and then an animal stole it :(

Happy WW :)

Unknown said...

Thanks Kristi! Yes, this is a current picture. Happy WW!

Unknown said...

Oh yes Paula, animals sometimes steal them. Goats are our problem here! Have a good Wednesday.
