Judy H-J's Thoughts - A Twinless Twin. Jamaican Freelance writer on a healing journey after facing loss. Here I share memories, hobbies, interests, pictures and much more.
Every weekend I will have a blog post where I ask and answer questions. It is a good way for readers to get to know more about me and also help me to get feedback on a number of questions. Today I answer Question 4 asked by Jamie fromLove Bakes Good Cakes who passed on the Liebster award to me. When you were young, what did you want to be
when you grew up?I was always
interested in working with media and ended up being a Freelance Journalist and writer. I am also happy for the first time to be participating in Friendship Friday hosted by Create With Joy.
What did I want to be when I grew up--I don't think I honestly thought about it until college was on the horizon--then I wanted to be a journalist--however I ended up with a 2 year accounting degree and a 4 year environmental science degree!!
I was the oldest child and we lived on a dairy farm. I worked very hard and was very independent. I didn't want to be a nurse or secretary because I didn't want to do the same jobs women did. I wanted to go into the military, but then I'd have been filing and doing secretarial work. I was a waitress and then a bartender. At the age of 27 I started the career I was meant to do. A cop. I spent 25 years doing that and achieved the rank of lieutenant. Not bad for a country girl.
Very interesting answer Sandee. I have learnt a lot about you! You did well for sure. Not bad for a country girl. I am also a country girl!:) Take care and enjoy the rest of your day.

It's so wonderful you ended up doing what you've always wanted to, Judy! When you do what you love, it doesn't seem much like work!! So happy for you!! I'm so glad we've met through the blogging world and through sharing out stories. It's been a great blessing! Happy Friday! Xoxox lots of love Maria
When I was in grade 8 , my teacher asked me that what I want to be? I said nothing , I will be a house wife. She got angry on me but I did answer to her honestly with my plans! Aree With Umbrella
What did I went to be when I was young. Three things. I wanted to be a writer when I was younger. In particular I liked to write and draw. I used to wander around the park and make up stories in my head to entertain myself. I also wanted to be a DJ. I begged my mom and dad for a tape recorder. At ten years old they finally caved, and I got a little hand held recorder. I recorded my own radio shows. They probably weren't very good, but I got pretty awesome at foley work. I now work at a radio station as a part time receptionist and midday host. Have a great weekend Judy! :)
I wanted to be an artist and a private investigator. An odd mix, but kids are odd. :) My 4 year old son said he wanted to be the one to have babies when he gets older. I became a college graphic arts teacher. To this day I have to get down to the bottom of things. That's probably that private investigator coming through.
When I was young, I loved to draw and be crafty, but in school, I loved math and science. I went to college and got a degree in Mechanical Engineering and did that for a few years. Starting faux finishing and doing murals for family and friends. Been painting everything for 18 years now. Still don't know what I want to be when I grow up! ;) Found you through the Sunday Social. From as early as I can remember, I always wanted to be an actress. I tended more towards stage performance, not movies. I did quite a bit of community theatre (even some paid) in the 5-6 years before I started having kids. Hope to get back to it someday...soon. :O)
Thanks for your feedback LuAnn. It is wonderful that you were able to do some community theatre and I hope you get to continue some day. Take care and have a wonderful week.
My grandma drove the special needs bus and would often take me along. I always had such a great time with those kids, I really wanted to be a special education teacher. I ended up having children a bit young, so that didn't pan out, but still think about doing it from time to time.
