This ring-necked pheasant figurine has not only been
very special for Janine and me but our mom who received it from her late
American pen-pal Dorothy Pratt. I will never forget that wonderful afternoon in 2006 when we met Dorothy, her daughter Jane and son-in-law Orrin at the famous Ruins restaurant in Ocho Rios. Mom and Dorothy were pen-pals for over 60 years. The ring-necked pheasant is the state bird
of South Dakota where Dorothy lived.
