Mother's Day Tribute - Creative Monday Blog Hop

   Like many countries Mother's Day 2013 is celebrated on Sunday, May 12, in Jamaica. It is always a very special day for me as my mother is a very important person in my life. In fact she has been the only parent that I have had since I was 13.  Mom has always been there for me in good times and bad times proving to be a tower of strength through many of life's trials.  On this Mother's Day she is celebrating with 2 children although she gave birth to 4.  I know that my twin sister Janine and brother Sutcliffe are here with us in spirit so when I make a card I never leave their names out.  Below is the card that I made for Mom. I  got cartridge paper, old calendars, paste and scissors and got busy. Of course two of my favourite things had to be on the card - a bird and flowers.

  A mother's love is very special. Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers who are celebrating this special day.

Question Time

    Every weekend I will have a blog post where I ask and answer questions.  It is a good way for readers to get to know more about me and also help me to get feedback on a number of questions. Do you exercise regularly?  If so, what type of exercise is your favourite?  I can hardly believe how disciplined I have become when it comes on to exercising every day. My favourite exercise is Yoga. I like the fact that it involves meditation. I find Yoga exercises good for the mind and body.
     As usual I am participating in Friendship Friday hosted by Create With Joy where this week the theme is Television. What genre of television shows do you enjoy the most?  I am not much of a television person these days but my twin and I used to enjoy comedies and soap operas.  Which television shows are your current favourites?  Reality shows with my favourite being a Jamaican show Digicel Rising Stars, which is somewhat similar to American idol. Which season finale are you most anticipating? None at this time.  What is your favourite television show of all time?  It is hard to choose as I have had so many favourites - Three Is Company, The Jeffersons, Different Strokes, The Cosby Show, Bold & Beautiful, Generations etc. I could go on and on!

Creating Floral Collages - Creative Monday Linky

Question Time

    Every weekend I will have a blog post where I ask and answer questions.  It is a good way for readers to get to know more about me and also help me to get feedback on a number of questions.  What are your favourite clothes items - top with pants, skirts and blouses, top with shorts or dresses?  Over the years Janine and I have mainly worn dresses. Actually we last wore pants in our early teens. We just never liked wearing pants. Our mother loves pants and wears then almost all the time.  These days I only wear dresses, skirts and blouses.  
    As usual I am participating in Friendship Friday hosted by Create With Joy where this week the theme is Movies. What is your favourite movie of all time?  What upcoming Movie are you most looking forward to seeing? Do you have a favourite Book to Movie adaptation? Have you ever watched a movie that you wanted to love but hated or anticipated hating but fell in love with?  I have not watched a movie in a long time.  These days if I decide to watch a movie it would definitely be one that makes me laugh a lot.  Anyway I am a big Danielle Steel fan so I would like to see one of her books as a movie.

My Favourite Potato Salad - Creative Monday Linky

     I am a big fan of potato salad and have tried making it with a variety of ingredients.  My favourite is definitely potato salad with mixed vegetables.

Recipe 

6 Potatoes

1 onion

1 tin of mixed vegetables

Method

Wash, peel and dice the potatoes.

Add a teaspoon of salt in 6 cups of water and bring to a boil.

Put in potatoes and boil for 20 minutes.

Drain immediately and place potatoes in a container.

Add the onion, mixed vegetables, black pepper and mayonnaise, then toss.

Place in the freezer for 1 hour.

Question Time

Do you have pets?  I have always had pets and over the years they have been dogs. At this time we have 6 dogs! Yes, 6 dogs!
  As usual I am participating in Friendship Friday hosted by Create With Joy where this week the theme is This Land Is Your Land. 1.  Which country are you from?  I am from the Caribbean island of Jamaica and have lived here all my life. 2. How much of the country have you visited?  I have visited most of the parishes. 3. Which part of the country you would like to visit next?  I would like to visit Negril. It is on the other side of the island from where I live and has several miles of lovely white sand beaches.
