Cocos In My Soup - Creative Monday Blog Hop

What do you cook in your soup?  Cocos is a  must whenever I cook soup. Originally from the  Pacific region coco is a starchy tuber that can be found in tropical countries. After being reaped they are peeled and then put in soup to be cooked for about 1 hour. They help to thicken the soup.

Hi Maria,
My weekend has been fine apart from internet problems. It has been a bit chilly here for March so soup is just perfect at this time. I hope you, Steve and Beano have had a wonderful weekend and I wish you all an enjoyable week. Take care. Lots of Love, Friendship and Best Wishes always.

I have never heard of cocos! Sounds much healthier than thickening up soup with half and half or flour. ;) I might have to give these a try next time I make soup! Hop you have a great week, Judy!

When cooked they look a bit like salsify, though I imagine they aren't. I like the pretty plate with flowers on.

Like our potatoes I'm guessing. A starch. I'd not heard of these before.

We always have to have a meat in our soup. I would love to make a traditional veggie soup, but my husband complains if there is no meat in it.

Thanks Claire. It is good to be co-hosting again. I have been having serious internet problems. I hope it will be over soon.

I am so glad to be a part of this blog hop !! I have seen tubers that look similar in my grocery store, but they are much larger. Are they found in America or are they only native to Jamaica?

You are welcome Lisa. Have a good day.
