In Memory Of My Twin - Creative Monday Linky

As I approach another anniversary of my identical twin sister's death on October 16 I reflect and give God thanks for all the wonderful times we had over the years. I like to create photo collages so here is one of some of our favourite pictures that I made with Photovisi collage. I also include a poem I wrote in tribute to my twin.

You Live On Through Me
By Judy Haughton-James

I look in the mirror and what do I see?
You who looked so much like me.
After your death it made me feel so blue
At times I did not know what to do.

Many a day I was afraid to even speak,
It sounded like your voice and made me weak.
Now as I ponder and wonder for awhile,
Thank God I can manage to smile your smile.

This has been the deepest valley of my life,
But I will fight on when low moments are rife.
For sure I will never forget that what I see,
Is that you, my twin, lives on through me.

Must be so hard to look in the mirror and see your sister who you miss. I'm sure that no one but a twin would be able to know how that feels. I think, as you've said, the most important thing is to cherish the memories.

As you always be together... even when she's in another world.

I'm a very emotional girl and I just want to send you a BIG hug:)

Thank you very much Sandee. I never tried to write a poem until after Janine's death. It was good advice from Dr. Raymond Brandt in his book about twin loss. It has proven to be therapeutic. Have a wonderful day.

Wanted to pop in and say hi. Haven't been by lately. It is always rough on the anniversary... I lost my brother 12 years ago on September 22nd. I'll be thinking about you tomorrow.
