Many years ago on one of our trips to Kingston, Jamaica's capital, Janine and I could not resist this bird candy dish. It immediately became a part of our collection. Strangely enough no candies have ever been put in it!

It's beautiful! Love it!
Happy Thursday, Judy!
Thanks Veronica! Have a great Thursday.
Oh I love! For some reason this looks very familiar to me. One of my grandparents must have had something similar when I was growing up :))
Paula
Thanks Paula! Have a good Thursday.
This also reminds me of something my Nani had at one point in her house. :) it is so cute! I have just started putting candy out in little dishes around the house. You have so many treasures and beautiful memories! I love all you share, Judy!!
I hope today is a wonderful one and that the weather is beautiful. We have been getting rain and clouds here lately but it is definitely cooling off. Wishing you a great one and sending lots of love!!

Thanks a lot Maria! I have seen the wonderful pictures of your friends and their children so the candy you put out must be a real treat! I wish I was nearby!:) We have been getting some well needed rain but the sun still shows its face often. My Thursday has started well. Do have yourself a great day and weekend. Lots of Love & Friendship to you, Steve and Beano!
It's beautiful !
Quite different from the other items I've seen so far from the collection
Thanks Winnie! Have yourself a good Thursday.
Well, it doesn't need to have candy to be beautiful. It's beautiful all by itself.
Have a terrific day Judy. :)
So true Sandee!:) Have a great Thursday.
What a great candy dish. My mother had seven candy dishes in her house. I know this because the grandchildren went around and counted them. My mother heard them take the lids off as they looked inside. Everyone was filled with Scotch mints.
Love your chicken dish ... reminds me of my mom, and that makes me smile -- thanks for that
That is a really fun dish all its own. It doesn't need candy. Thanks for participating in Thirsty for Comments Thursday.
Oh no, as a huge sweets lover, I insist you put some candies in there at once lol.
It is a lovely piece Judy!
What a sweet little sweets dish!
Thanks retired not tired. It is wonderful that your mom had 7 candy dishes. Those Scotch mints must taste lovely.
Thanks Heather. Enjoy the rest of your day.
I think my grandma had this, too! I love anything vintage! Thanks so much for visiting and following-I'm happily following you back :)

I am here laughing Theresa. If it was not in a display unit I would definitely have some sweets in it. You bet I would be taking that lid off quite often!:)

Thanks Josefa! Have a good weekend.
This candy dish is very cute Judy. Having this figurine full of candies will make me not resist the temptation of eating more than enough candies... Have a nice weekend.
Thanks Nekky. If I put candy in it for sure it would be opened very often!:) Have a wonderful weekend.
sweet hen candy dish! Thank you for sharing at the Thursday Favorite Things hop. xo
Thanks a lot Katherine. Have yourself a wonderful weekend.
I like this one! My grandmother had one, except it was a light pink. She never put candy in hers either. There was a look but don't touch policy.
Thanks Angela! I had to smile when I read that your grandmother had a look but don't touch policy with her pink candy dish!:) Have a good weekend.

Hi
I collect coloured glass and just love your chicken candy dish. I had one many years ago, long before I started to collect coloured glass and mine was not as pretty as yours - it was clear not coloured.
I used to put eggs in mine, not sure what it had in it originally, if anything?

I love it!!! I could not put any candies in it to not break it... I'm a little clumsy. It's been a long time I haven't read any blogs. I hope you're ok
Have a nice week end ;)
I actually had a dream last night that I went to check your blog to see if there was a cute new bird figurine posted! Lol. :)

It is truly beautiful. I hope you are having a great weekend!!!
It's very pretty. Will you put candy in it now that you've mentioned you never have? :)
Thanks mail4rosey. It is usually in a display unit so candies may not be in it for awhile. Maybe one day when it is out of the unit!:) Have a good week.
