Christmas Draws Near - Creative Monday Blog Hop

Can you believe that we are actually in the month of December?!  The days are moving so quickly. Before we know it Christmas will be here. My twin and I enjoyed decorating our home at Christmas and also taking pictures beside the decorations.  I decided that I would  make a Christmas collage of some of these pictures and use it for my header during this month.
Christmas decorations certainly help to lift one's spirit and I am glad that I have been able to decorate our home after the loss of my twin and again after my brother Sutcliffe died during the Christmas season of 2011. There was a time when I felt that decorating was a thing of the past for me.
I look forward to decorating a special memory table for my departed loved ones again this year.  I am usually a bit late with the decorating but for sure it will be done. How is your decorating coming along?

It's hard when you lose loved ones around the holidays. I so remember. It gets a bit better, but still it's difficult.

I've not started yet, but will shortly. I usually have the tree up the day after Thanksgiving, but we've been so busy with so many other things.

Have a fabulous day. ☺

Thanks Trinity Grace! I am always glad to have you link up. Take care and have a wonderful week.

It certainly was difficult to get back in the mood to decorate after my twin's death and then to lose my brother Sutcliffe in the midst of a holiday season Sandee. I thank God that I have managed to do some decorating again and that includes decorating a memory table for Janine and Sutcliffe. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday.

Judy,
I know what a happy time of year this is, but it is also difficult for many of us who have lost loved ones. I too lost my brother & sometimes it's hard to be in the mood to decorate or celebrate the holidays. I am slow going on the real life decorations this year...but my miniatures are almost set! :)
Hugs,
Lisa

A very nice header. You two look so close. I imagine it was hard for family, friends and teachers to tell you apart.

She must have been very special! It's great that she had you as a sister to keep her memory alive.

Thanks a lot Alissa! Only a few friends and my immediate family could tell the difference. In pictures Janine was always the one with the bright smile. I am so happy I have wonderful memories. Enjoy the rest of your day.

Hi Judy! Love your collage and sorry for the loss of your brother as well! So glad you didn't give up your decorating! ;-) I too remember my mom during the holiday by decorating a tree with her ornaments in honor of her. I'm a little late this year(we usually put it up the day after Thanksgiving), but it's so busy around here, my days are starting to run together, lol! Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving my friend and thanks for linking up!

Unknown said...

Thanks a lot Michell! It is good that you also decorate in memory of your mom. Enjoy the rest of your week.
