SO GOOD TO BE INSPIRED!

A few days ago I opened my kitchen window just before 6 in the morning here in Jamaica.  The sun was coming up and I saw the view featured below. There is just something about it that made me run for my digital camera! Here are 3 of the shots:
Shortly afterwards  I saw an awesome Facebook status by another twinless twin, Frances Quinn. I immediately asked her if I could share it here as it has lifted my spirit so much as I face a  birthday later this week without my twin sister.  If you have also lost a relative or known someone who died from cancer I hope it helps you also:
"What Cancer Cannot Do" - "Cancer is limited... It cannot cripple love. It cannot shatter hope. It cannot corrode faith. It cannot eat away peace. It cannot destroy confidence. It cannot kill friendship. It cannot shut out memories. It cannot quench the spirit. It cannot silence courage. It cannot reduce eternal life."

Hello Judy....Very nice to meet you.
You are blessed to have this beautiful view to start the day with. I am so sorry for your loss of your beautiful sister. Sometimes, we wonder what Life is all about.
I am not a twin, however my Dad is.
I lost my younger sister in 2004. She died during the night unexpectedly. This was the night after her daughter got married. We were all in Nevada at a hotel for the wedding. It was the most difficult thing to deal with to find my little sister gone.
I am also an Ovarian cancer survivor. I love your poem....it has great meaning. Treasure the memories.....Hugs, Linda

Thanks Melissa! All the best to you.

One hint, turn off the word verification. Most people shy away when they see that. XO Linda

Hi Linda,
Thanks for sharing your comments. I am sorry to read that you lost your younger sister in 2004. I know what that experience must have been like. It is good to know that you have survived Ovarian cancer. Continue to defeat it and my prayers and best wishes to you. I am also happy to hear that your father is one of twins. Please give them my kind regards. Take care and lots of hugs to you.

Hi Linda,
Thanks also for becoming a Follower of my Blog. I will definitely follow back. I just stepped away from the computer to do something for my mom. Thanks for the advice about turning off the word verification. I note that a lot of Bloggers have stopped it. I am going to Google it and find out how to do so. Take care.

Lovely sky! It's been raining and cold for days here. But those photos look like just being taken from our backyard in the province.

Those photographs are just gorgeous. I can't imagine waking up and looking out my window to that beautiful view every morning. Jamaica must be a gorgeous place.

I am so sorry you lost your sister to cancer. I am an old oncology nurse and have see that beautiful poem before. It is comforting and so very true. I have seen so many lost to cancer and I have seen so many survive it. One thing they all have in common is an undeniable strength and dignity.

Thank you so much for sharing your story. It must be very hard to go on without your twin. I just can't imagine what an incredible loss that must be for you.

I will keep you in my prayers today and hope for many more beautiful sunsets for you to connect with your sister. God Bless, Jana

Thanks Itin. We usually get a lot of rain in October but this time we had quite a bit of sunshine. It is not even that chilly yet. November is here and it is a sunny morning in Jamaica. Take care.

Thank you for sharing this quote. My mother-in-law passed away last week, and her funeral was today. When I read this quote, it lifted my spirits. She was a cancer survivor who passed away from other causes. Thank you for visiting my blog. I hope you have a wonderful birthday!

Unknown said...

Hi Rebecca,
I am sorry to read of the death of your mother-in-law. My sincere condolences to you and all her relatives. May her soul rest in peace. I am glad the quote helped you. Take care and my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Wow. Those pictures are spectacular. I'm so happy you get to see views like that from your window. I'll be thinking of you on your birthday (what day is it) and please keep me in a prayer on Saturday the 5th. It marks the first year of losing my beloved baby brother. Oh how I miss him. Unfortunately we are part of a "club" that no one wants to be in but once there grateful for friends like you that really understand this heartache. Blessings, Annie

Unknown said...

Hi Annie, It is always good to hear from you. Thanks for your comments. You are so right, we are in a club that we wish we were not members of. The 3rd anniversary of Janine's death was October 16 but our birthday is November 4. It would have been very special as its our 50th birthday. I note that the first anniversary of your brother's death is one day later. Some months certainly have some difficult dates for us. Anyway let us fight on and thank God we understand the situation and can help each other. You are also in my thoughts and prayers. Take care.
