Potholders or Kitchen Decorations?!

Christmas is just a few days away and I have been thinking about what we will be having as part of our Christmas dinner this year.  One thing that I am already sure about is that this Christmas I will be busier than usual in the kitchen. I don't mind at all although it is good when you have an experienced chef preparing the goodies. I will miss that this year.
I tend to get a burn now and then so this time I will be sure to have my potholders ready. Anyway it will be my old potholders that will save me. I have two Christmas potholders but I think they are just too beautiful to be soiled.  If they make their way into my kitchen it will only be as decorations.

While I am working on the menu  I will be skipping the baking this year.  However that does not mean that there will be no cake or pudding around.
Will you be doing most of the cooking and baking this year?  Have you ever used potholders or other Christmas items as decorations in your kitchen?

Yes, hubby and I are doing all the cooking and baking for Christmas. We also have lots of Christmas kitchen towels and pot holders.

Have a fabulous day Judy. ☺

Those pot holders are adorable..

My Sis in law will be doing all the cooking and I basically just bring wine and dessert.

Yes, I used to use pot holders as decorations but now I don't do much decorating.

Thanks Poetic Shutterbug. Have a good time with your sister-in-law and family.

That sounds great! I don't have any Christmas pot holders. I try not to buy holiday stuff, as I will not be able to control myself. smiles. Have a great weekend Judy.

I know what you mean Self Sagacity. When I used to go shopping with my twin we bought a lot of Christmas decorations. We also received many as gifts. I also wish you a wonderful weekend.

Yes, I am doing all of the cooking/baking this year...with some help from mom ;)
Love the pot holders. I have one that looks like a Christmas tree that I confiscated from my mother-in-law a few years ago (with her permission). It is part of my kitchen Christmas decorations every year since.
Have a great week!

I will also get some help from my mom Lisa T! The potholder you got from your mother-in-law must be so beautiful. Have a great time preparing the Christmas meal and I wish you and your family a wonderful holiday season.

I never thought of using pot holders as decorations. I usually use them for cooking and put them away for the next year. Thank you for sharing it on our Four Seasons Blog Hop. Pinning Now.

Thanks for Pinning this Shawna! I have some other potholders so I can save these to decorate. I find it so difficult to get them soiled. Enjoy the holiday season.

Hi Judy, your pot holders are so cute and I love them. I don't use Christmas pot holders when I'm cooking for Christmas Eve or Christmas Day unless I have company coming over because I too don't want to get mine dirty. Take care and good luck with your cooking. Merry Christmas it's almost here.

My mum is doing most of the Christmas cooking this year! We take it in turns (except my husband does it in our house!). We don't have Christmas potholders, but my mum has a few little things like tea towels to brighten the place up at Christmas.
Have a lovely Christmas!

Thanks Julie! I hope everything turns out well and I don't get burnt!:) I got burnt by hot water yesterday but it was not due to lack of using a potholder! Christmas is really near now. Enjoy every moment of the season.

My mom will help with the cooking too Sarah Mummy. Have a wonderful Christmas.

I am so glad I'm not the only one who gets pretty potholders and then doesn't use them. :) High five you, ha! I do it with pretty soap too. ;)

Have a wonderful season, I know your dinner will be fab. My MIL is cooking this year, hurrah! :)

High five Rosey! So you also do not use your pretty potholders!:) Lucky you, your mother-in-law will be cooking. My mom will help me. Sadly our usual chef is ill. He is a great cook. We will certainly miss his cooking this year.

The past couple of years my sister and I started the cooking. We'll see what we will do this year. It's usually a last minute thing in our house. Thanks for sharing on my blog hop! http://contentemeant.blogspot.com/2013/12/what-are-you-doing-wednesday-blog-hop-33.html
